Every little thing’s gonna be alright!!

Acts 12:5    So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church.

This is about intercessory prayer!!  In the scripture above it states that the whole church prayed for Peter while he was in prison.  If you go on in study, you will find that he was heavily guarded and there seemed to be no way out.  But Peter had something going for him.  He had a church that was praying for him on his behalf.  They were crying out to God to help him.  You will find in the next several scriptures that two things happened.  Peter fell asleep.  Now, can you imagine being in prison knowing that you were about to go on trial and fall asleep??? There’s only one thing that can lead you to that kind of peace and it’s God.  Secondly, he was sleeping so good that an angel had to wake him by striking him on the side.  The angel told him to get up and put his coat on.  His chains were loose and he walked out of the prison.  Then the angel left him.  Amazing!!!

I think this is a great example of the power of prayer.  I want to use this blog post for the purpose of praying for others.  If you have a prayer request and want to have myself or others praying with you, you can leave me a note in the comments or send me a message.  I will post your prayer requests.

I recently saw on Facebook a little girl who is in need of some prayer.

1.  Her name is Megan and she has her own FB page dedicated to keeping people posted.  Please pray for a miracle for this little girl and that the family has the peace of the Lord with them.

If you have someone in mind you would like to pray for, let us know.  It’s what we are here for!

Some of my favorite Spring/Summer Fashion looks!!

This is probably the only time of the year I get excited about clothes.  WHEN we actually have a winter I’m most comfortable in a great pair of jeans or my pajamas.  Hey, I’m just keeping it real :)   Recently I went shopping and added a few new pieces to my wardrobe.  I actually got 7 new tops and a cute summer dress and a new pair of shoes for $100.  I was able to incorporate all of these new things with some key pieces I already own.  I’m going to showcase a few of my favorite looks for this spring/summer!!

I am a big big fan of Bermudas and shorts that are an appropriate length.  Let’s face it, most of us aren’t teenagers anymore and can’t pull off something too terribly short.  By the way, I think the shorts they make for juniors nowadays are WAY too short to begin with, but that’s a whole other story.

OLD NAVY carries these shorts.  They are 5″ long and a perfect length if you’re not too tall.  I’m 5’5″ and I find that these cover my cellulite nicely :)   I have them in Khaki but I want them in white as well!!

This is an adorable summer dress.  I’m really digging stripes this year and I’m LOVING the nautical theme!!  This one was found at Old Navy too!!!

I’m loving these shoes from Payless and they’ll go with a LOT of my wardrobe!!

I love the yellow top pictured above.  I also am loving this swimsuit.  I am no longer a two piece girl so finding a DECENT one piece is hard to come by.  I found the top and swim suit at Target.

These are just a few looks that I’m loving for the summer.  Happy Shopping!!!

April 4th. I especially love the last part of this!!

I meet you in the stillness of your soul.  It is there that I seek to commune with you.  A person who is open to My presence is exceedingly precious to Me.  My eyes search to and fro throughout the earth, looking for one whose heart is seeking Me.  I see you trying to find Me; our mutual search results in joyful fullfilment.

Stillness of soul is increasingly rare in this world addicted to speed and noise.  I am please with your desire to create a quiet space where you and I can meet.  Don’t be discouraged by the difficulty of achieving this goal.  I monitor all your efforts and am blessed by each of your attempts to seek My face.

Wow, that last part is so true.  In this world, everything is so fast paced.  Everyone is in fast forward mode.  It’s SO rare when someone sets aside time for God each day.  It tickles me pink to know that even though my set aside times (in the morning before school and in the afternoons after baths) sometimes get interrupted, HE notices!  He truly notices my heart and how I long to commune with Him.  Thank you Lord for being so forgiving and taking notice of, on what some days, is merely an effort.

A little of this, a little of that…..

Things have been super ridiculously crazy over here.  Lots going on.  I’m going to use this blog partially as an online photo album.  Something that my family can visit so they’ll know what’s happening in our little world and one that my children can one day look to.  I plan on compiling each post into a photo album at the end of every year.  So I’m going to do my best at keeping this current.  Follow if you wish :)

In the past month, the boys have started Baseball, Kayla has started tumbling classes and made the JV Cheer squad.  She took first place in the Social Studies Fair at school and will be going to regionals later this month.  Blake has taken phase one of the LEAP Test and the rest will follow when we return to school next week.  We have a little over 30 days of school left.

This is my best friend and I on our date night out.  We haven’t had one of those in FOREVERRRRR and I so cherish the time I get to spend with her!!  We had dinner at Outback where I laughed a LOT and then saw the Hunger Games.  I first read the books last year after my hysterectomy and I re-read them again right before the movie came out.  I was a little let down by the movie.  I know I know, a lot of people think it was FABULOUS but for me it was just ok.  I also have to remind myself they had a ton of detail to shove into one movie, so don’t take my critique too seriously :)   Oh, and how do you like our awesome shirts??? It only took us two days and $55 to make those!!! LOL…. Mental note…… I am NOT a T-shirt designer!!

This is Sam before his first game.  It’s that time of year!!

Here is Blake.  He hasn’t played since T-Ball so this year he’s starting new :)

We took the boat out Saturday afternoon.  The kids had a chance to tube for a little while.  Kayla and Blake are pictured above.  Sam decided to play Captain since he was too nervous to get on the tube.  We launched at a nearby sandbar and let the kids play and just soaked up some good ol’ vitamin D.  I love the days when we can just let our cares disappear, even if it’s only for a short while.  It was a nice afternoon.

The finished product.

I can’t wait to see what the rest of the week has for us.  I know it will definitely hold a gigantic Easter egg hunt at my mom’s on Thursday and possibly at my neighbor’s on Friday.  What are YOUR plans??

April 3rd

In Me you have everything.  In Me you are complete.  Your capacity to experience Me is increasing, through My removal of debris and clutter from your heart.  As your yearning for Me increases, other desires are gradually lessening.  Since I am infinite and abundantly accessible to you, desiring Me above all else is the best way to live.

It is impossible for you to have a need that I cannot meet.  After all, I created you and everything that is.  The world is still at My beck and call, though it often appears otherwise.  Do not be fooled by appearances.  Things that are visible are brief and fleeting, while things that are invisible are everlasting.

Ephesians 3:20; 2 Corinthians 4:18

I have been absent for a while from this blog.  I’m trying to find me, find my place in this world.  The one conclusion I have come to is this: I am simply a vessel for God.  For now that means raising my children in the way of the Lord by being the best stay at home mom and wife I can be.  If you read back a few days you will see a glimpse into me and perhaps a glimpse into the hearts of many women.  I know I am not alone.  So I choose to share my testimony with you.  I choose to share my passion for the Lord with you.  My cup runneth over and I feel like everyone should have the same.

God Bless and much love,

Dawn
