Acts 12:5 So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church.
This is about intercessory prayer!! In the scripture above it states that the whole church prayed for Peter while he was in prison. If you go on in study, you will find that he was heavily guarded and there seemed to be no way out. But Peter had something going for him. He had a church that was praying for him on his behalf. They were crying out to God to help him. You will find in the next several scriptures that two things happened. Peter fell asleep. Now, can you imagine being in prison knowing that you were about to go on trial and fall asleep??? There’s only one thing that can lead you to that kind of peace and it’s God. Secondly, he was sleeping so good that an angel had to wake him by striking him on the side. The angel told him to get up and put his coat on. His chains were loose and he walked out of the prison. Then the angel left him. Amazing!!!
I think this is a great example of the power of prayer. I want to use this blog post for the purpose of praying for others. If you have a prayer request and want to have myself or others praying with you, you can leave me a note in the comments or send me a message. I will post your prayer requests.
I recently saw on Facebook a little girl who is in need of some prayer.
1. Her name is Megan and she has her own FB page dedicated to keeping people posted. Please pray for a miracle for this little girl and that the family has the peace of the Lord with them.
If you have someone in mind you would like to pray for, let us know. It’s what we are here for!
Matthew 18:20 Where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them.
Love,
Dawn
